About Education Alliance

In 2003 Karen Kohler and Stacy Graupner had a dream of starting their own business in the field of education. They were teachers and felt a need to provide support and training to teachers and parents in a different capacity. Slowly their dream came to a reality and they now work with school districts in multiple states providing literacy instruction to pre-kindergarten teachers and parents. They always had a passion and belief that they had to work with not only the teachers, but the parents as well. Karen and Stacy felt it imperative to provide support, guidance, and early intervention for pre-school aged children to close the increasing gap in education.
Literacy Mentoring
As Education Alliance grew, two separate departments formed; Literacy Mentoring and Together We Learn. Literacy mentoring involves training literacy coaches on how to effectively work with early education teachers in the classroom. The focus is literacy and language rich classrooms that meet Department of Education standards through formal and informal professional development and side by side coaching/mentoring. Education Alliance’s highly qualified staff also helps to ensure district’s curriculums are being implemented with fidelity.
Together We Learn™
To provide parents with the necessary tools, Education Alliance developed a curriculum, Together We Learn, which is an innovative parent literacy program based on scientific reading research. The curriculum helps parents build a foundation that will increase receptive and expressive vocabulary of pre-school aged children. Research indicates there is a small window of opportunity to build and acquire language. Language acquisition is the foundation for literacy. Education Alliance’s goal is to help all parents support their children to become life-long readers and learners.
